Mass

Year 2 have been learning about mass. Mass is a measure of how much matter is in an object – how heavy something is. The more mass something has, the heavier it is.

Year 2 have been finding the mass of different objects by hefting and using balance scales.

Hefting is when you hold objects to estimate or test the weight of objects.

    Dear Year Two,

I would like to share with you that I liked using the balance scales to weigh objects, like the smart board pen and a candle. I also liked estimating how lighter or heavier an object is compared to another object through hefting.

    Kind Regards,
    DI
